Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale beated. Kinda mixed thoughts on this one. Some of the stuff was fun, and Yuuna's role ended up being better than I expected. Fight scenes were great as usual, focus on Asuna was awesome since I feel like SAO's at its best when she's doing stuff, and the ending was great. The premise was kinda silly though (how does copying memories also delete those memories?), and the villains were lame, as they always are in SAO. Show would be so much better with more female villains. I did appreciate that the cops actually got involved for once.

I thought Amalthea was kinda cool the first time I saw her, but nope. Lame 100% of the time for the whole span of the trilogy. Richard's allowed to have some cool moments, but none for her.

Man, I felt it was way harder to deal with alerts in MGS3 than the previous games. That was one of the things I didn't like about it!

Funny story: I rented VJ when it came out, loved it, and then bought it...and got to level 7 and gave up. By then I didn't like the game much at all.

Huh. I hated FC's ending. Anything with mind control is usually pretty terrible IMO. It's such inorganic character development. Plus the romance between the two of them was still a bad creepy incest thing in my mind at that point.

I didn't say it had anything to do with it, was just expressing an opinion about the show since it came up, but way to project.

The pacing of the whole middle of the show was bad enough that I dropped it for a solid 3 months. Way too fast, way too much stuff in not enough time. It felt like I was watching a digest movie.

You seem to have a problem with fast pacing in general considering your reaction to Grancrest

Optimally, you should always have four of them equipped. I've been using them right from the start. Using four doubles the amount of enemies you face.

(note: they don't reduce appearance of other enemies. they just make you encounter more enemies at a time)

The sidequests are considerably worse than before actually. In xenoblade 1 it was a revolutionary idea that when you got all the items for a quest, it would end the second you got the last item. Now its the traditional "walk back and forth 50 times to finish this quest" that standard rpgs have

BI's ending was alright. LIS's was pretty good. Haven't played TLOU yet.

For LIS though, I think all of the previous episodes had better endings than the final one did.

I dunno, it didn't really feel like it was rushed. I assume it was just hurt by losing most of its UI time partway through development.

No, 8's a real one. There's bonuses that came with 8 called Extra Chorus that are also on Amazom.

8's a bonus one too. Was written and adapted years later. Extra Chorus is better than it.

? 6 is often considered the worst in the series. Mainly due to how rushed the plot is. It should've been the same length as 5 and 7 considering its length in the source material.

I love the game but I'm not surprised to read that some things fell on the floor and they had to outsource to make their date.

Do you think so? Nothing about the game really seemed rush to me. Losing the 3 UI programmers is the biggest one from the article that explains some of the game's issues.

Most of the staffers were working on BotW during the dev cycle, apparently. Pretty incredible accomplishment. It's kinda mystifying how Assassin's Creed games need 700 people working on them to put one out in three years and still feel so empty.

AFAIK Eupho got a recap movie and is getting a sequel movie. I assume it'll be original since the anime adapted all the source material. When the Hyouka anime was made, it adapted 4 out of 5 existing books. There are now 6 books.

I remember when I ran a best and worse series by studio topic series on the anime board and FLCL won out as the worst Gainax anime. Good times.

C3Bu was an amazing work of art made by Gainax in 2013, long after the Trigger crew left.

Trigger's only been around for five years, so I dunno if the comparison makes htat much sense at this point. Trigger's made a good number of good shows in a short time period though. KLK, Ninja Slayer, and Inferno Cop are great.

Watching four episodes is definitely giving it a shot. I watch one episode of a show and then drop it all the time. Stuff getting explained earlier doesn't make bad early episodes good. If it happens to turn great later on he can always pick it back up for that.

Finished reading Fire Punch. This was quite the series. I really liked how much it changed as it went along. Basically every arc feels like a totally different series than the previous ones, and they're all done well, except for the start. I didn't hate the first ten chapters like LtM did, but they were definitely note executed particularly well. I also liked how the series basically constantly subverts your expectations as well. Even early on, you expect it to be something like Fist of the North Star or Lone Wolf and Cub where the MC goes around killing bad guys and saving people in an episodic adventure, but he basically does that like once before the series changes gears. I always thought Agni was a pretty good protagonist too. Even when he's not doing very nice things, the author really gets you inside of his head so you can totally see where he's coming from. Nothing he does really feels like an asspull, despite how much he changes throughout the manga. After the first few chapters I always enjoyed him. Of course, the real star of the series was Togata. She's really heavily focused on for 20 chapters or so, and those are the best parts of the series. 10/10 material. I just love how crazy the series is in that section. Probably the best twist on almost anything I've read. Cool manga overall.
